Swiss Surfing Juniors Spring Trainings

Even though most river waves were still asleep in early spring, Swiss Surfing was already active. Not in the river, but in the ocean. The juniors took chance of the calm start of the season and trained their skills in Portugal. A few weeks later, they joined the older surfers for a training week in Alaïa Bay. Here's the recap.

Swiss Surfing Rookie Squad: Ready to Ride!

🌊 Rookie Training Week in Portugal – March 2025

In March, the powerful Atlantic swells welcomed Switzerland’s up-and-coming surf talent as the Swiss Surfing Rookie Squad hit the beaches of Portugal. This intensive week of surf training was all about preparation — sharpening competition strategies for the ISA World Championships, translating maneuvers practiced at Switzerland’s own wavepool Alaïa Bay into ocean conditions, and building confidence for the upcoming Rapid Surfing Championships on home ground. Whether chasing the perfect line or simply getting more comfortable on their boards, the squad made the most of Portugal’s world-class conditions.

🏄‍♂️ Team Spirit at Alaïa Bay – April 21–26, 2025

Back on Swiss soil, the full Swiss Surfing Team — from Rookies to Elite — reunited at Alaïa Bay for a week packed with progress, peer learning, and shared stoke. The training wasn’t just about refining surf technique; it was about building a stronger team. Guided by expert coaches Ludo Ludosky and Francisco “Xixi,” and even Elite Squad rider Fantin Habashi stepping into the coaching role for the rookies, the week offered top-tier mentorship and inspiration.

With waves ridden, friendships strengthened, and skills sharpened, we look back on these successful weeks. The season ahead is looking bright — good luck to the entire Swiss Surfing Team!
